Celebrating Women’s Day with a Special Cycle Rally in Telangana

To mark International Women’s Day, Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, alongside state sports ministers, athletes, and administrators, led a cycle rally at Kanha Shanti Vanam, Telangana. The event celebrated women’s excellence in sports and promoted fitness through cycling.

Held alongside the Chintan Shivir, a meet discussing India’s 2028 LA Olympics plans and the 2036 Olympic bid, the rally featured key figures like badminton legend Pullela Gopichand and Paris Paralympics bronze medallist Deepthi Jeevanji.

Dr. Mandaviya also launched the ASMITA newsletter, highlighting the government’s Sports for Women initiative. Assam Sports Minister Nandita Gorlosa, who led the rally, shared her joy of cycling after 30 years.

Encouraging a healthier lifestyle, Dr. Mandaviya emphasized making cycling a habit through the Sundays on Cycle initiative, supporting PM Modi’s Fit India Movement.
